Cook’s Ferry Indian Band is a Nlaka’pamux First Nations government located in the Central Interior region of British Columbia.
Our strong and thriving community comprises approximately 384 Band members with roughly 15% residing on reserve and 85% residing off reserve.​​

Our Departments
Housing
The Housing Department supports safe, healthy, and sustainable housing for Cooks Ferry Members. Services include housing applications, inspections, maintenance coordination, renovations, rent collection, and support for Band-administered housing.
The department also works to improve energy efficiency and promote long-term housing sustainability within the community.
In addition to housing services, the department engages with residents through workshops, outreach initiatives, and community partnerships to help address local housing needs and strengthen member well-being.

Infrastructure and Operations
The Infrastructure and Operations Department helps maintain the essential services and facilities that support daily community life. Responsibilities include water and wastewater systems, roads and drainage, building and grounds maintenance, fleet and equipment operations, solid waste and recycling services, landscaping, and snow removal.
The department also supports infrastructure planning, inspections, repairs, and capital projects that help keep community assets safe, reliable, and well maintained. Seasonal services include limited special waste pick-up and firewood delivery for on-reserve residents during the fall and winter months.

Finance
The Finance Department provides financial administration and support services for the Cook’s Ferry Indian Band. Key responsibilities include payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and processing NLX applications, helping ensure accurate and efficient financial operations across departments and programs.
The department is committed to providing clear communication and dependable financial services for staff, members, and community programs

Social Work
The Department of Social Work provides support, advocacy, and connections for individuals and families both on and off reserve. Services include assistance with Social Assistance, Status Card renewals, family support circles, referrals, and support for families involved with Child and Family Services.
The department also helps maintain community-based initiatives such as the Community Pantry Program and Bright Red Bookshelf while connecting members with resources, partner organizations, and networks of support. Community members are encouraged to reach out with questions, concerns, ideas, or requests for assistance.
