Cook's Ferry Indian Band members were well represented this summer as local athletes competed at both the provincial and national levels of fastball.
Provincial Success
The Cache Creek Chaos U17 boys' team returned home with the gold medal after winning the BC Provincial Championships in Terrace. The team went undefeated throughout the tournament and secured their place as the top U17 boys' fastball team in British Columbia.
Among those celebrating the championship were Cook's Ferry Indian Band members Sky Billy, Alex Thomas, and Gracie Peters, who helped the Chaos capture the provincial title.

Cook's Ferry member Ty Rainer also enjoyed a successful provincial tournament, earning a silver medal while competing with the Barriere U15 team.
Historic National Championship Appearance
Following their provincial victory, the Cache Creek Chaos advanced to the 2026 U17 Men's Canadian Fastpitch Championship in Surrey from Aug. 5 to 9.
The tournament marked a historic achievement for the province, as the Chaos became the first BC team in 25 years to compete at the U17 Men's Canadian Fastpitch Championship.

Cook's Ferry member Gracie Peters was part of the historic roster and made history of her own as the only female player competing at the national tournament at the U17 level. Peters helped represent British Columbia and Cook’s Ferry against some of the country's top teams while gaining valuable experience on the national stage.

The accomplishments of Gracie Peters, Sky Billy, Alex Thomas and Ty Rainer highlight the dedication, talent and sportsmanship of Cook's Ferry youth athletes and reflect the strong community support that helps make these opportunities possible.
