Module 2 – Physical Activity & Land-Based Learning
Strengthening Connections to the Land, Culture, and Community
The Physical Activity & Land-Based Learning Module provides participants with opportunities to learn directly from the land through outdoor activities, cultural exploration, and Elder-led teachings.
For generations, Nlaka'pamux people learned through observation, participation, and experiences on the land. This module helps restore those connections by providing guided opportunities to explore traditional territory while learning about local history, traditional foods, medicines, cultural sites, and environmental stewardship.
Participants will engage in walking tours, community gardening activities, traditional games, nature walks, cultural site visits, and discussions about wellness, food security, and traditional knowledge.
