RE: Custom Election Rules of the Cook's Ferry Indian Band

TO: The Electors of the Cook's Ferry Indian Band
TAKE NOTICE that a Referendum Vote has been called pursuant to the Amending Formula outlined in sections 28 – 31 of The Custom Election Rules of the Cook’s Ferry Indian Band, (1994) (“Rules”) that will be held on SATURDAY, JULY 11, 2026, to determine if the Cook’s Ferry Electors approve and assent to the proposed amendments to the Rules as presented in the June 5th, 2026 document (the “Proposed Amendments”) summarized in Appendix “A”, attached to this Notice.
The following Ballot Question will be asked of the Cook’s Ferry Electors by secret
ballot:
As an Elector of Cook’s Ferry Indian Band, do you approve the proposed amendments to The Custom Election Rules of the Cook's Ferry Indian Band (1994), in the form dated June 5, 2026?
The Electors will have the opportunity to vote in the Referendum Vote, only once,
through one of the voting options, as follows:
In person
Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 9:00am-8:00pm at
Chief Whistemnitsa Building
3691 Deer Lane, Spences Bridge, BC
or
Online
Beginning Saturday July 4, 2026, at 9:00am until Saturday July 11, 2026, at 8:00pm. Each Elector will be sent an Elector ID and Password to the email address on file. Voters wishing to vote electronically will access the online voting platform at https://cooksferry.simplyvoting.com/.
Summaries and complete copies of the Proposed Amendments will be provided to each Elector either in person, electronically or by mail. See the website information at Cook's Ferry Indian Band.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that a Voter’s List is posted on the bulletin board at the Band Administration Office with this Notice of Referendum Vote. Requests for copies of the Voters List can be made directly to the Referendum Officer.
