David Yamelst
To the Cooks Ferry Band Members, Family, Friends, and Community,
As we approach our election on October 24th, I want to take a moment to share why I have decided to put my name forward.

Iam proud to be the grandson of David and Amy Yamelst and the son of Hank Yamelst and Pearl West. My family has taught me the importance of hard work, respect, honesty, and looking after one another.
I am not running because I believe I have all the answers. I am running because I believe our members deserve to be heard, respected, informed, and included in the decisions that affect our community and future generations.
I believe it is time for stronger communication, greater transparency, and accountability from Chief and Council. Our members deserve to know how decisions are being made, how our finances are being managed, and what plans are in place for our future.
I want to see regular band meetings, open communication, and opportunities for members to have a meaningful voice. Our Elders, families, youth, and members living both on and off reserve all matter. Every voice deserves to be heard.
I believe leadership is about listening, working together, being accountable, and putting the needs of our people before personal interests.
I am a hard worker and a family man. I believe in leading by example, treating people with respect, and standing behind my word.
We may not always agree on everything, but we should always be able to sit together, have honest conversations, and work toward what is best for Cooks Ferry.
This election is not just about who sits at the table. It is about the direction we want our community to move in and the future we want to leave for our children and grandchildren.
On October 24th, I am asking you to take action: please vote for David Yamelst. Your vote can help bring stronger communication, greater transparency, and real accountability to Cooks Ferry. Together, we can build a more united, informed, and hopeful future for our community.
Please talk with your family, encourage your friends to vote, and make sure your voice is heard. I respectfully ask for your support and your vote on October 24th.

Thank you for taking the time to read my message. My door is open, and I welcome your questions, concerns, and ideas.
